Auto body repair requires skills in dent repair priming and painting. It’s a skill that can easily be learned. When I was younger I took an auto body repair class in the evenings a few nights a week for six months and became quite skilled in the art of auto body repairs. Then started my own mobile auto body repair business.
If theres one thing theres no shortage of, it’s dents, and car owners absolutely hate them when they happen. Every time they get in the car they see it and it just drives em’ nuts, especially if its a newer model and it’s there first one.
Many dents that occur are small and not worth paying the large deductible. That would require them to take it to a high priced auto body repair shop. Auto body is one of the most expensive types of repair anyone would have done to there vehicle.

Various Sanding Blocks
Grinder
DA (orbital sander)
Primer
Bondo & Fiberglass
Dust Masks (Make sure you don’t breath this stuff in)
You’ll be pricing repairs by both considering the hours it will take to complete the repair and the amount of materials you will need. In many cases you can undercut your competition by a great deal potentially up to 50% or more and still leave room for a great profit. Much higher than any minimum wage job out there.
Once you start looking for potential customer, anyone with a dent in there car, you’ll soon realize that nearly everyone is a lead for your new business.
The reason this small business works so well is due to the issue with the insurance deductible. When you can repair a dent that will take four hours and can do the work for a cost of say two-hundred dollars. Your saving your customer with five-hundred dollar deductible, three-hundred dollars. Beleive me, any dent you can repair for two-hundred, will be much more at an insurance approved auto body repair place.
Getting practice. You may already have a dent in your car, and if you don’t you probably know someone who does. Let them know that your refining your skill and that you will repair there dent for the cost of materials.
